My go to West Indian spot in Durham/Scarborough area. They make their jerk, curries and doubles from scratch you can taste the difference between the other spots like Roti Hut, Dhrupati and Mona’s, it’s like I’m eating food straight from someone’s house. The owner and Chef are friendly and accommodating and make we want to keep coming back.

Was in the area, did a quick browse and followed with the reviews on this spot. The reviews are accurate. Definitely an amazing spot, the owner is very nice, food is fresh and tastes great. Tried the aloo pie with hot sauce and tamarind sauce. Unbeatable taste. A must try.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. The owner immediately recognized me even though the last visit was a few weeks ago and asked if my husband enjoyed the food. He was very attentive to my situation when I asked for food recommendations. I asked him about bone-in or boneless meat. He noticed I was in the area for work and needed something easy to eat (grab and go), he said bone-in is tastier but might be better for another time when I can sit at home to enjoy. I appreciated his honest opinion. The shop is a simple take out spot with two chairs. Didn’t expect a ton for atmosphere, the people made it feel homey, the food and customer service were amazing! A tiny bit on the pricier side for Caribbean food BUT the food portions are massive so I think it’s really fair. I saw a sign for student special which is very nice of the owner to offer to students on a budget. This will be my go to spot when I’m in the port union area again!!! If you are looking for local eats, you won’t be disappointed!

I typically rate Caribbean places by either their jerk pork or curried goat and if they have a roti version even better. JJ’s did not disappoint, the goat was tender and seasoned appropriately, the curry was packed full of flavour and the full sized roti skin was just what the doctor ordered them to be. Portion was exceptional and the owners were as friendly as it gets. Plenty of options for vegetarian friends as well but done come hoping for pork. (Sad panda) Overall a lovely experience that will see me again whenever I’m hungry and out this far east (for me)

Ordered the aloo and channa pie along with the doubles, both were delicious that we had to order a second round! Sweet owners too, will be back soon!

I recently moved to the area and was lucky enough to discover this place—and I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve been going almost every day, and the food never disappoints. It has that delicious, homemade taste that’s hard to find. My go-to is the jerk chicken sandwich, but I’ve tried several other items on the menu, and everything has been just as amazing. You really can’t go wrong with anything here. Plus, the food is always prepared quickly, making it the perfect spot for a quick and satisfying lunch. Highly recommend!

I ordered today's special chicken roti 9.99 & got 1 double (basically roti with chickpea inside) with mild hot sauce (was very spicy but delicious). I wud recommend getting 2 doubles (2.99 each). I'll be returning to see if their goat curry is better than my mums. Highly recommend it, as the chef to make it the way he recommends, won't be disappointed, hot & fresh made in 10 mins.

The service was amazing! The people r so kind and the family is so sweet. I love eating authentic Trinidadian food here, which is hard to find in Toronto. Absolute gem!!
